Church Discipline
Discipline is a serious but often neglected responsibility of the church. We live in a day where tolerance of sin in the Body of Christ is increasingly normal, yet the mandate of the Bible for a pure church has not changed. God has set forth in His Word specific instructions concerning how the church should handle the issue of sin in the family of God.
In Church Discipline: An Evidence of Christian Love, Pastor Gil Rugh looks at the issue of discipline in the church and addresses the following questions:
Election: Whose Choice?
Pastor Gil Rugh has compiled the major elements of the election debate in Election: Whose Choice? and tackles critical issues such as "Is Man Free?" "Is God Fair?" and "The Purpose of Evangelism."
Evangelism: Treading the Roman Road
There are many different types of Gospel presentations, but in any presentation there are four things that must be included. To be saved, a person must know and believe these four basic facts.
Baptism: Truth or Tradition
Few issues throughout church history have been as widely debated as that of baptism. Shortly after the time of the apostles, various and conflicting views began to arise concerning the purpose and methods of baptism. Even today, many churches hold different views on this important subject. Some hold that baptism is a necessary part of salvation while others say baptism is a testimony that one has been saved. Some churches practice sprinkling while others emphasize immersion. Some churches baptize infants while others only baptize adult believers.
Provision or Penalty: The Danger of Rejecting Christ
For the believer, the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ is a wonderful thing. For it is in His death that the Christian finds salvation and forgiveness of sins. Unfortunately, though, not everyone who knows God's plan of salvation believes. In fact, the writer of Hebrews tells us that there are people who knowingly reject the truth, and in the process, treat the death of Christ as an unholy thing.
Spiritual Gifts
One of the most interesting subjects in the New Testament is that of spiritual gifts. Unfortunately it is also one of the most misunderstood subjects. As Christians, we need to know what spiritual gifts are.
The Church: God's Program for Ministry
The church is God’s program for ministry in this age, but much confusion exists concerning its nature and purpose. That is why Pastor Gil Rugh, in his work, The Church: God’s Program for Ministry, looks at the key issues involving the church and what the church’s role is. Pastor Rugh addresses such questions as:
Does God Have a Future for Israel? A Study of Romans 11
Does God have a future for Israel? Most Christians throughout church history have held to the view that the Church has replaced Israel in God's plan. But is this view biblical? Pastor Gil Rugh in his booklet, Does God Have a Future for Israel? A Study of Romans 11, shows that God has not permanently rejected His people, Israel.
The Origin and Fall of Satan
Is Satan a myth or a real, personal being who opposes the plans of God? Many people today believe the formerÑthat Satan is a mythological figure, the product of ancient folklore. Others believe he exists, but live as if he doesnÕt. The Bible, however, presents Satan as a real being, a fallen angel, who actively opposes the plans of God.
How to Have Victory Over Sin: A Study of Romans 6:1-22 & 8:1-14
There is much confusion in the Evangelical Church concerning how to deal with sin. Often adopting the world's view that people are victims and not responsible for their actions, the Church has offered Christians answers which are essentially no different from the solutions of the world.
