The current series begins September 14, 2011. The series title is The Bible: Our Authority. This assertion should be a given in Christianity, but it is openly challenged by the theological and political left. The implications are clear: If the Bible has Divine authority, Man’s authority has been diminished. Secularism or Humanism with its philosophies of social and biological evolution and their hope in human progress find biblical authority disdainful; below human dignity. We must understand that these attacks are on the essential truth that God has revealed Himself for our day. That revelation is the Word of God: The Bible. It is our duty and privilege to defend it in this series of Issues in our Contemporary World
The series will establish the basis for the claim that the Word of God (Bible) is the revelation of God for us. Questions of how God provided the Bible, the structure of it and how we are to know its meaning will be answered. We will also look at the nature or substance of the attacks that come from the secular world and then similar attacks that come from within Christianity from the drifting church.
